Marvel's Wolverine has been in the hot seat over the last week or so, but mixed reviews and internet memes seemingly haven't put a dent in the superhero game's adamantium frame.
The short version
- A new report states the latest from Insomniac Games has already sold almost 2m copies, with more than a fifth coming from physical sales.
- Alinea Analytics' Rhys Elliott today reported that Marvel's Wolverine has moved around 1.9m copies in its first three days and, thus, dropped a fat bag of cash into PlayStation's lap.
- The figure apparently includes a million copies that came from pre-launch digital pre-orders.
What happened
Altogether, the divisive action game's made upwards of $130m so far. While Sony itself plans on ending production of discs for new PlayStation games in 2028, there seems to be plenty of demand for physical versions of its new blockbuster.
Why it matters
According to the report, 22.9% of revenue came from physical editions.
