Sony has revealed the games coming this month to PlayStation Plus, which are available to everyone from 6th October.
The short version
- October's highlight is Crytek's superbly tense and atmospheric co-operative and competitive extraction shooter Hunt: Showdown 1896, which we Recommended back in 2021 (it was so long ago we used a different scoring system).
- However, console versions didn't arrive until late in 2024, and there was a 2.0 overhaul last summer, so the experience itself should be fresh enough.
- "If Hunt: Showdown's unusual - and, as it turns out, fantastically exhilarating and engrossing - mixture of inspirations has a single guiding principle, it's that predators become prey," wrote Edwin in his Hunt: Showdown review .
What happened
As always, their arrival means you have until 5th October to add last month's games (see September's PlayStation Plus games ) to your library. For more information on PlayStation Plus, you can check out our guide to PS Plus and all the available games here .
